A teenage boy who works as a stable hand and is devoted to horses suddenly blinds several in a horrific attack. Why did he commit this terrible crime? That’s what psychiatrist Martin Dysart is asked to find out. But as Martin begins to uncover the sexual and religious conflicts underlying the disturbing act, he starts to wonder whether he’s doing more harm than good.
